AFFIRMATION OF FAITH

We Believe that God is the Father Almighty and that He is maker of Heaven and earth as the scriptures have said. We believe in Jesus, that He is the Christ and is the only begotten Son of the Father. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He was conceive by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. On the third day, He rose from the dead and declared victory over the grave, death, and hell. He has gone back to the Father to prepare a place for us in His kingdom. He will come back as He promised to judge the world and to deliver the righteous. We believe in the Holy Ghost, the Free Will Baptist Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and eternal life for all true believers who persevere in holiness to the end.

About our Pastor

Dr. Stanley A Williams

And the LORD answered me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Habakkuk 2:2-3

Dr. Stanley A. Williams Jr. is the elder son of James and the late Sarah E. Williams. He is the tenth pastor of Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Godwin, North Carolina, "Where God Wins." Under his pastorate, Spring Hill is prospering. The church membership has begun to increase and continues to grow. With his vision we will reach the "unreachable", obtain the "unobtainable" and achieve the "unachievable" by knowing and trusting in God and His power to provide, so that we can be Living Examples of Jesus Christ.

Dr. Williams attended Shaw University in Raleigh N.C. and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication specializing in Radio and Television. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biblical Studies from Bishop Theological College in Jacksonville, Texas.

He served in the U.S. Army in several specialty areas and made a career out of serving his country. He is a highly decorated combat veteran.

In October 2000, he was elected to the Board of Trustees for the Cape Fear Conference B of the United American Free Will Baptist Church. In 2002 he was elected Dean of the Cape Fear Conference Christian Workers Institute. As the Dean, he coordinates Association training and church policy for seventy-eight affiliate churches.

Dr. Williams is married to the former Phyllis Chapman of Maysville, North Carolina, who is very active in the ministry as an ordained Elder. They have three children: Stanley III, Philip-Jamal and Yashica and one grandson NakariCue. Pastor and First Lady Williams reside in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

At Spring Hill, God has blessed us with not only a Spiritual Leader but also a visionary in Dr. Williams. His ministry has taught us that, "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead" James 2:26. He is truly a man of God that has a heart for God's people and knows the voice of God. He ministers the word of God with power and simplicity so that all that hear shall be able to receive. Dr. Williams encourages others seeking to win souls for the Kingdom of God. He teaches and equips God's children so that they may grow and mature in the ministry. He's known for saying, "Spring Hill FWB Church is moving and it's not backwards."
